Introduction

 

Czechoslovak club "T. G. Masaryk" has long lasting traditions in Bulgaria. Founded in 1892 under the alias cultural society "Czech", along with its branches in Plovdiv and Varna, the club currently has around 350 members.

The activities of the club change during the various stages of its history, but are always focused on charity, culture and society. Among the events there are celebrations, presentations of Czech poetry and literature, concerts, movie screenings. The club has a rich library at the dispense of its members. Meetings, dances and tea parties are organized. Special attention is paid to the study of the Czech language.

The restaurant of the club is very popular with its specialties from the Czech and Slovak cuisines and the presentations of famous Czech beers.

The club works together with the Czech and Slovak embassies, the Czech cultural center in Sofia and club Bohemia. It also has the support of the foreign affairs ministries of the Czech and Slovak states.
